INFLUENCE THE FUTURE OF UFA!
UFA officer elections will be on Tuesday, April 28th at 5:30p.
The positions available for general members are Treasurer, Secretary, Marketing, Social Director, Co-Social Director, Technical, and UBC Representative. Only current officers can run for President and Vice President. All offices will be voted upon by all UFA members present on election night, so it is imperative that everyone attend elections whether you are running for an office or not.
Individuals have the opportunity to run for one position and if unsuccessful in the race, can “drop down” twice. This means each candidate has the opportunity to run for three offices total. The procedure is as follows: first, each candidate will give a 3-minute campaign speech. Then, each officer position will be elected separately by secret ballot. After the winner is announced, then the other candidates will be asked if they would like to drop down to another position. (I apologize if this is redundant, but I just want to make this as clear as possible.)
As a candidate, you have the opportunity to give a 3-minute speech for your position. You are allowed to use a PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 3 slides. Please prepare only one presentation for your desired officer position. If you decide to drop down, you will have up to one (1) minute to edit your original presentation for your new presentation if you wish. We will be enforcing the time limit and slide policy to ensure that election night will run quickly and efficiently.
If you are intending to run for an election, please submit your name the title of your desired office to Catherine Jenkins at catherine.jenkins@bba05.mccombs.utexas.edu by FRIDAY, APRIL 24th at 11:59 pm. (That is one week from today!) If you do not meet this deadline, your name will not be on the ballot. Please feel free to contact Catherine if you have any questions!
GOOD LUCK!
